Children Witness Deadly Shooting In Frankford

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police say young children were present when a man was shot multiple times and killed late Wednesday night inside a home in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.

This happened just before 10:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Fillmore Street.

Police say at least ten people were inside at the time of the shooting -- four of them kids ages 4-8.

Witnesses tell police a man approached the house, opened the door then fired several shots, which they believe were aimed at the 30-year-old victim. He suffered at least one gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead inside the home. Police say he was a visitor.

The gunman then fled the scene, police say. He was last seen in a dark jacket with white lettering on the front and back, wearing dark jeans and white sneakers, running east on Fillmore Street.

Surveillance video at a nearby restaurant may have caught the suspect arriving to and from the crime scene, according to police.

Police say the area is known for low-level drug activity, however there is no official motive at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.

CBS 3's Justin Finch contributed to this story.
