Chester Teen Shoots Another Teen While Exiting School Bus

CHESTER, P.A., (CBS) -- Chester Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday morning involving high school students. According to authorities, the incident took place shortly before 11:00 a.m.

Police say that a Chester high school student, 16, shot and struck another 16-year-old student in the buttock as students were exiting a school bus in the 1100 block of Highland Avenue. Officials say four shots rang out.

Authorities say that witnesses tell them that both the suspect and the victim are students of Chester high school programs.

Officials say the victim was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities say a warrant was filed for the suspects arrest and a search warrant was issued for his home, but he was not located. Authorities say that the suspect has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and possession of a weapon on school property. Officials say the suspect is being charged as an adult and there is no known motive at this time.
