Cherry Hill Man, Philip Puche, Accused Of Attacking Ex-Wife Will Now Face Murder Charge
AUDUBON PARK, N.J. (AP) - A man who authorities say slashed his ex-wife during a planned attack at her home last summer will now face murder charges following her death. Philip Puche, 72, of Cherry Hill, initially was charged with attempted murder in the July 19 attack on 63-year-old Nancy Kenney, who was found bleeding from multiple wounds outside the Audubon Park home she shared with her new husband. Kenney identified Puche as her attacker and he was arrested that day.
Kenney died Monday from complications of head and neck injuries, authorities said. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Camden County prosecutors have said Puche planned the attack and waited for Kenney to get into her car before slashing her. The attack was captured on video.
Besides the murder count, Puche faces charges of armed robbery, burglary, aggravated assault and weapons offenses. He remains jailed, and it wasn't clear Friday if he has retained a lwyer regarding the murder charge.
