5 Philly Restaurants And Chefs Are Finalists In 2016 James Beard Awards

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The final nominees for the prestigious James Beard Foundation Awards were announced today and five chefs and restaurants from Philadelphia have made the cut.
The James Beard Foundation took to Twitter to announce its top picks for restaurants and chefs in America. Out of the 15 local semifinalists-- five remain.
Outstanding Chef: Michael Solomonov, Zahav
Outstanding Restaurateur: Stephen Starr, Starr Restaurants (Serpico, The Dandelion, Talula's Garden, and others)
In the Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic category-- Philadelphia represents three of the six nominations -- Greg Vernick, Vernick Food & Drink / Eli Kulp, Fork / Rich Landau, Vedge
The James Beard Awards Gala will take place Monday, May 2nd in Chicago.
