Chamber Orchestra Of Philadelphia Kicks Off 51st Season

By RJ McKay

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia is kicking off a new season.

Executive Director, Janelle McCoy, says of the first concert, "September 20 and 21 we'll be opening our 51st season with Delibes Tao Saint-Saens and it will feature the composer and pianist Conrad Tao, who is a bit of a rock star from his generation at the tender age of 21."

Janelle adds, "We also commissioned Conrad to write a piece for us and this a very unusual commission. It is for piano, orchestra and iPad. Conrad will actually, during the concert, be sampling electronic sounds."
