Center City Restaurant Hosts 'Bark-B-Que' In Honor Of National Adopt A Dog Day

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Saturday is National Adopt a Shelter Dog day, and a center city restaurant hosted a Bark-B-Que to benefit the Pennsylvania SPCA.
Foodies and their four-legged friends filed into the block party outside Smokin Betty's on Sansom Street for some barks, burgers, and beverages.
"Beer and sangria and live music. It's like a dog park on steroids," said restaurant owner Sue Schlisman.
Schlisman has four dogs of her own and says the goal is to raise $10,000 for the SPCA.
"I'm so in love with the animals and with the dogs, I'll do whatever I can to help them."
Rich and his Chinese Crested rescue dog Phoenix are sniffing around for some new friends.
"It's for a good cause and an excuse to get the dog out of the house. I hope it gets super crowded. It's nice to see all the other dogs."
Volunteers from the SPCA brought over a few pups who are available for adoption.
