Police Issue Arrest Warrant In Deadly Center City Hit-And-Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) —An arrest warrant has been issued for the man police say struck and killed a woman in Center City and then fled the scene.

It happened Aug. 6 when police say a man driving a white Jeep Wrangler fatal struck 53-year-old Ann Broderick on Broad and Race Streets.

Broderick, who police believe was homeless, was reportedly sleeping nearby when she got up to cross the street and use the restroom. A security guard patrolling the area found the Broderick with trauma to her skull on the street. She was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital around 3:45 a.m.

On Friday afternoon, police issued an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Brandon Hay. He is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter, homicide by vehicle and accident involving death.

CBS3 has learned Hay is expected to surrender to police on Monday.

 

The vehicle involved in the hit-and-run was found days later in Collingsdale, New Jersey.
