CBS News: Sources: U.S. Intel Warning Of Possible Attack In U.S. Monday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- CBS News is reporting information from U.S. Intelligence officials on a possible Al-Qaeda attack on three states the day before Election Day.

According to law enforcement officials, they have received threat information about attacks in New York, Texas and Virginia set for Monday.

There was no word about specific targets or other details.

A senior FBI official told CBS News, "The counterterrorism and homeland security communities remain vigilant and well-postured to defend against attacks here in the United States.  The FBI, working with our federal, state and local counterparts, shares and assesses intelligence on a daily basis and will continue to work closely with law enforcement and intelligence community partners to identify and disrupt any potential threat to public safety."

The credibility of the intelligence has not been confirmed, but joint terrorism task forces have been notified.
