CBS 3 Pet Project: Clinic Helps Low-Income Residents Get Vet Care For Their Pets

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Vet care is an important aspect of owning a pet but medical bills and expensive medications can deter some families from getting their dog or cat the attention they need.

Some good news is that there are resources for these lower-income residents.

The Pennsylvania SPCA hosts daily walk-in wellness clinics Monday through Saturday that offer low-cost veterinary services.

This past weekend the clinic saw dozens of pets from the Mantua section of West Philadelphia. Dogs and cats were able to get check-ups and owners left with free pet food.

The PSPCA is located at 350 East Erie Avenue.
