MERION, Pa. (CBS) --- It's the meeting many parents at a local Catholic school have been waiting for -- tonight the board president of Waldron Mercy Academy has called a gathering to discuss the school's controversial firing of a lesbian teacher.

This isn't the first time parents have gotten together to express outrage over the popular teacher's firing. Parents have held rallies and threatened to take their children out of school.

Margie Winters was fired as Director of Religious Education at Waldron Mercy Academy in Merion on June 22nd. She spoke with Eyewitness News' Pat Ciarrocchi about her life, her marriage, and the hurt she feels about losing the job she's loved.

A number of alumni have also threatened to take away donations if Winters is not reinstated, and she has seen support on Facebook as well.

Many parents are demanding that Winters be reinstated. Tonight, parents will get to voice their frustrations to the school.
