Cat Rescued From Engine Compartment After Making Trip From Stroudsburg To Northern NJ

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (AP) — It was a sweet ending for an orange and white cat that crawled into the engine compartment of a pickup truck.

The cat survived the 28-mile commute Thursday from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, to the Mars Chocolate North America plant in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

That is where police were called to rescue the feline.

With the help of the town's public works department and Mars employees, the cat was freed from the fan blades.

The cat ran off. But it was soon caught by police after a brief chase on foot and turned over unharmed to the animal control officer.
