Can Eating Chocolate Help Your Memory?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Calling all chocolate lovers!

According to a study by researchers at Columbia University, chocolate may help your memory.

The researchers studied the effects of flavanols, which is an ingredient found in cocoa.

They believe it could help reverse memory loss in older adults.

Scientists found patients who had more flavanols performed better on memory tests. In certain cases, the patients had the memory of someone who was 30 years younger.

Catherine Wilson Tucker isn't quite sold on the study. She says, "Must be older than 40ish because my memory stinks and I love me some chocolate." But Edna Monroe is on board, "Hope so! I have dark chocolate almonds and chocolate covered pretzels. I love chocolate."
