Campaign Finance Reports Suggest Pa. Gubernatorial Race Will Be Expensive

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Another candidate for Pa. governor is showing off his campaign war chest, suggesting the primary in May will be very expensive.
Big news week for Pa. State Treasurer Rob McCord. He's raised $6.6-million, a little less than half of his own and funds held over from his last election. Still, he has $6-million left to spend in the bank.
Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz has raised $6.5-million including $3-million carried over from Congressional campaigns. But the campaign will not tell what's in the bank and left to spend, yet.
Lebanon Pa. businessman Tom Wolfe has $13.3-million available, including $10-million of his own.
So, that makes a total of almost $27-million raised by January 14th.
Now, silence from the other six candidates is telling. They have to report by February 1st, but candidates always release money reports early if they have good news.
Bottom line: an expensive race is ahead and so far three candidates are definitely not going away.
