CAMDEN, N.J., (CBS) -- The Camden Community Charter School just finished a multi-million dollar expansion project.

The new learning facilities come just in time for the new school year.

School does not start until next Tuesday but teachers are already in their new building prepping for the year.

"It's a little bit of organized chaos. It's a little bit of excitement a little bit of nervous energy everybody is kind of running around making sure everything is just perfect. I think the most exciting thing is the fact that everything is new, this is our first opportunity to make inroads with kids that haven't been exposed to this."

Lutfi Sariahmed teaches sixth and seventh grade language arts teacher.

He says he's ecstatic to have a state of the art classroom equipped with features like a digital white board that meets students ever changing needs.

"With this new building opening up, with everything being as new as it is you're going to see things here that's going to be positive all around moving forward. We have the opportunity to make a real good impact on all these kids in here. I'm really excited about what's going to happen here not just this year, but over the next few years."

The new building made it possible to add seventh grade to the school which was previously kindergarten through sixth.

The school's expansion also allows officials to increase the student body population from 400 to 700.
