Camden Police Officers Spread Christmas Cheer To Local Children

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- Police officers in Camden, New Jersey are making sure that dozens of kids have a Merry Christmas.

On Sunday officers distributed more than 1,000 toys to more than 130 kids.

"Throughout the year we do a lot of things to try and give back, but this is the culmination of all of it," said Sargent Rich Kunkel with the Camden County police.

He said thanks to donations from local businesses they are able to brighten a lot of spirits.

"The more families that get involved, the more community groups that get involved that want to help out the better it's going to be each year moving forward."

The toys ranged from kid favorites like Spiderman to Batman to Spiderman.

Officers even dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Clause and took pictures with the children.
