Camden Man Pleads Guilty To 2 Armed Robberies At Businesses

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Prosecutors say a Camden man has admitted his role in two armed robberies at area businesses.

Raekwon Simmons faces an 18-year state prison term after pleading guilty Friday. He's due to be sentenced Aug. 28 and will have to serve 85 percent of his term before he becomes eligible for parole.

Prosecutors say Simmons and a co-defendant, 25-year-old Camden resident Shamar Lee, committed the two robberies in November 2013.

Lee is also charged in connection with eight other robberies at convenience stores and markets, as well as some street robberies that also occurred throughout November 2013.

The charges against Lee are still pending trial.
