Camden Man Arraigned In Infant Son's Death

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Bail is set at $200,000 for a Camden man charged with aggravated manslaughter in the death of his 9-week-old son.

Prosecutors say 30-year-old Jonathan Garrett was home alone with the boy when he called police on February 1 to report the child was not breathing.

The baby's mother was working.

Jonathan Garrett Jr. died at Cooper University Hospital on February 2.

Authorities determined the cause of the infant's death was blunt head trauma.

Homicide detectives and prosecutors consulted with a neuropathologist last Tuesday and were advised the child's injuries indicated he had been shaken.
