Camden Man Admits Fatally Shooting 2 Men During Home Burglary

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey man has admitted killing two men during a burglary that he and his brother committed at a Camden home.

Camden County prosecutors say 22-year-old Camden resident Misael Lopez pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of felony murder in the slayings of 32-year-old Louis Narvaez and 28-year-old Jose Payas Garcia.

The two men were found dead in the kitchen of their Camden home in March 2012. Authorities say both victims had been shot.

Lopez now faces concurrent 30-year prison terms when he's sentenced June 23. He will have to serve at least 30 years overall before he becomes eligible for parole.

His 36-year-old brother, Alexander, pleaded guilty last month to conspiracy to commit burglary. He's expected to receive an eight-year prison term when he's sentenced alongside his brother.
