Camden County Police Officer Risks Life During Off-Duty Arrest

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) - Camden County police officer Sgt. Phillip Wright made an arrest on a homicide case, but it was not just any arrest.
The arrest highlights the dedication and determination of the veteran officer on the Camden County police force.
"He was off duty at the time," explains Camden County Police Chief Scott Thompson. "He notified detctives of the location, summond their assistance to the area and happened to find the suspect in the area. He took the suspect down at gun point. The suspect was armed with a loaded hand gun."
Thompson says that Sgt. Wright -- an 18 year veteran of the force and a retired marine -- is no stranger to these situations:
"You look at over the last 14 months, Sgt. Wright has caught two murder suspects who were both armed and actively fleeing which is quite the feat for any police officer."
In his latest homicide arrest, Sgt. Wright took down 24-year-old Isaac Bruce of Camden in connection with the President's Day murder of 21-year-old Marvin McClinton.
