Bucks County Weather: More Than 10 Inches Of Snow Leads To Whiteout Conditions

WARMINSTER, Pa. (CBS) -- Bucks County took another beating Thursday, courtesy of Mother Nature -- 10 inches of snow fell in Warminster. The main concern now is ice as we're still not done with this latest dose of winter.

The snow started falling early in Bucks County, coating the roads and making driving difficult.

"They're slippery. They're not plowed at all," Robin Elberth said of the roads.

Whiteout conditions and snow changing to freezing rain prompted accidents up and down the county.

A plow operator suffered a medical emergency, lost control of his vehicle and went airborne over a mound of snow, slamming into two parked cars.

"The snowbank over there is 6 feet tall. It was pretty amazing scary but amazing," George Shaya with George and Sam's Auto Sales said.

The driver was taken to the hospital.

As the snow ended, snow lovers ventured out.

By nightfall, the cold set in. Parking lot crews at this Giant grocery store were working fast, trying to get ahead of the freeze.

Just across the way, Mike's Bar and Grill in Warminster was open for business

"We are going to stay open for all the guys plowing and everyone else to have dinner, drinks," Robin Dabaga said.

Most who came out didn't have to go too far.

"We're only a block away we could technically walk if we needed to walk," Denise Peronace said.

Many were just trying to forget about the snow, at least for dinner.

"I want to move to Florida," Peronace said.

In case you were wondering, it's going to be 82 degrees in Miami tomorrow.

Closer to home, Warminster has issued a snow emergency through 7 p.m. tomorrow night. Crews will be out overnight treating the roads and warn that Friday morning's commute could still be very icy.

CBS3's Alicia Roberts reports.
