Bucks County Residents Seeing Electric Lights at the End of the Tunnel

YARDLEY, Pa. (CBS) -- A Peco customer information center in Bucks County had few takers today, and maybe that's a good thing.

Because of the ice storm, all of Yardley Borough and some of the surrounding area went dark (see previous story), but that's no longer true.

"It's a slow process," notes Lower Makefield police chief Kenneth Coluzzi.  "We still have a little over a hundred residents out of power, and that's a big concern of ours.  As far as the roadways, we think we're in good shape there.  And now we have the cleanup process to look forward to -- a lot of downed trees."

Elsewhere in the township building, more than half-dozen Peco customer service representatives kept themselves busy, given that they had no customers to deal with, perhaps both because the number left offline is dwindling and it was a workday.

Outside, the area looked like a winter postcard, although one road was so lined with broken pine branches that it looked like to world's longest holiday garland.
