Bucks County Man Who Traveled To Ukraine To Have Sex With Minor Sentenced To 14 Years In Prison

YARDLEY, Pa. (CBS) – A Bucks County man convicted of receiving and attempting to receive child porn videos has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Thomas Silber, a 51-year-old from Yardley, reportedly received 10 DVDs between February 2007 and October 2010 that involved minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Officials say the DVDs were produced by a company in Canada, and that after ordering one of the films, Silber contacted the producer of the video and arranged to meet at least one child depicted, who lived in Ukraine, for sex.

Silber then traveled to Ukraine on multiple occasions to engage in sexual activity with that child.

In the U.S., Silber was reportedly employed as a school bus driver, Little League baseball umpire and youth wrestling referee.

Silber pleaded guilty on December 18, 2014 and in addition to the prison term, he will also be required to register as a sex offender and pay multiple fines.
