Bryn Mawr Camp A Healing Place For International Children Of Conflict

BRYN MAWR, PA (CBS) - A summer camp for young adults whose lives have been transformed by terrorism is underway for the seventh time.

"Project Common Bond" brings together teenagers ages 15-20, from around the world who have lost a family member due to an act of violent extremism or war.

Launched by the non-profit organization Tuesday's Children in 2008, the program has so far brought together nearly 450 young adults from 20 countries all over the world. This year nearly 70 are expected to rejoin their peers for a week long getaway in Bryn Mawr.

The program aims to turn their experience of losing a loved one into positive actions that can help others exposed to similar tragedy.

Participating countries include Algeria, Argentina, Croatia, England, France, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Kenya, Liberia, Morocco, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Spain, Sri Lanka and the United States, with additional countries engaged for distance learning.
