Browns Place RG3 On Injured Reserve, Out 8 Weeks

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Cleveland Browns have placed Robert Griffin III on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, the team announced on Monday.

RG3 will miss at least eight weeks on injured reserve, but Adam Schefter reports the injury could be season ending.

RG3 suffered the injury on a meaningless play late in the fourth quarter, during a third and long from the Browns' own end zone in a 22-10 game. Eagles rookie corner Jalen Mills hit RG3 hard near the sidelines, as he was running out of bounds.

"Text book tackle on the sideline," Mills told the 94WIP Afternoon Show on Monday. "As far as the injury goes, we do play a physical game of football, but you never want to see a guy get injured like that. But, I mean can't do nothing but wish the best for RG3 in his healing process and hope to see him back on the field soon."

Some tough luck for the Browns.
