Brown Makes Easy Work Of Penn With 71-55 Win

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — JR Hobbie had 21 points and Steven Spieth had 19 to lead Brown to its largest road victory against Pennsylvania, 71-55 on Saturday night.

The 16-point margin surpassed the previous road-victory mark Brown (11-14, 2-6 Ivy) set last year on Feb. 28 in a 76-67 win over Penn at the Palestra. It was also the first time the Quakers (7-14, 2-5) lost to Brown in consecutive seasons at home.

The Bears took control with a 14-4 run to open the second half after trailing 30-29 at halftime. Penn closed within 48-44 but would get no closer.

Hobbie was 5 of 7 from 3-point range with all but three of his points coming from 3-point attempts as he was fouled on one of his long-range shots and made all three free throws. Tavon Blackmon added 14 points for Brown.

Matt Howard led Penn with 19 points.
