Brotherly Love: Cuddle My Kids

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Cancer treatments can be particular difficult, especially when raising a family. That's where a Coatesville non-profit organization called "Cuddle My Kids" comes in.
"Cuddle My Kids" provides child playtime, right in your home once or twice a week, for families affected by cancer. The cost is free.
Mom Jenny Reece had a double mastectomy, radiation, and reconstruction surgery, making it difficult for her to play with her baby twins, Elijah and Cecilia.
"It hurts to hold them. And when it hurts you physically to care for your children, it was really difficult," said Reece.
Caregivers like Liz Miller and Judy Phillips are trained in pre-school education and are armed with lots of toys and activities for the children.
Phillips said, "They feel safe, their kids feel safe, and the kids really look forward to it, too."
Jenny is able to get chores done or even relax while Judy and Liz play with the twins.
"Hours and a half, once a week, we can come in and just truly give them a break," said Liz Miller, an employee of Cuddle.
The organization has five caregivers. The program lasts for six weeks and serves ten to twenty families a year.
