Brett Brown: 2016-17 Expectations Are 'A Little Bit Unrealistic'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Brett Brown is already pouring water on your expectations for the 2016-17 Philadelphia 76ers.
"I think the dramatic increase in the win column -- and people can associate whatever number they think dramatic means -- I think it's a little bit unrealistic," Brown told the 94WIP Morning Show on Tuesday. "I feel like what we're gonna see next year is, everybody is going to step back and take a deep breath and sort of see and touch and feel a true foundation. Right now, we don't see it or it feel it as much. I think next year we will."

The heightened expectations for this season's worst NBA team, come in regards to help on the horizon. The Sixers could land up to four first-round picks this summer -- including the No. 1 overall selection. Plus, the 76ers' 2014 respective No. 3 and No. 12 picks -- center Joel Embiid and Turkish forward Dario Saric -- expect to make their respective debuts next season.
"I think that what we do with the uncertainty of the draft picks -- we understand the quantity that we could have," Brown said. "The playing out of Dario Saric. I feel like everybody in this city has got to be a little be tolerant and patient with Joel Embiid. He hasn't played basketball, in what? Two and a half years."
The 76ers, fresh off their ninth straight loss on Monday night, are currently an NBA-worst 8-52. Brown, now in his third year with the team, emphatically admitted this is as bad as it's going to get.
"I see it being the bottom of what we call rebuild," Brown admitted. "I think that to go through another year like this year, is not gonna happen. And what that looks like in regards to players, you know let's face it -- we need to upgrade our talent. We will. We need to continue to improve the players that we have, that I truly love coaching. We will."
