Bret 'The Hitman' Hart Announces He Has Cancer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Former professional wrestling star Bret 'The Hitman' Hart announced he is fighting prostate cancer on Monday.

"With hesitation and fear, I openly declare myself in my fight against prostate cancer," Hart wrote via his Instagram account. "In the next few days, I will undergo surgery with the hope of defeating this nemesis once and for all."

Hart, a 2016 inductee to the WWE Hall Of Fame, retired after suffering a concussion in 1999. Hart, 58, won the WWE U.S. heavyweight title five times.
