NJ Transit River Line Train, Car Collide In Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- A driver was injured after a train and a car collided in South Jersey early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at about 10:45 a.m. at Haddon Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard in Camden.

According to New Jersey Transit officials, a River Line train was returning to the rail yard when it came in contact with a car.

The driver of the car complained of neck and back pain and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

There were no passengers aboard the train and the train's driver was not injured.

The sedan sustained significant front-end damage. It was not immediately known if the train was damaged.

Service on the River Line between Walter Rand Transportation Center and 36th Street Station was temporarily suspended as a result of the crash, but it has since been restored.

The crash remains under investigation.
