Brandon Brooks Has An 'Anxiety Condition'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Eagles guard Brandon Brooks has mysteriously missed two of his team's last three games with an "illness."
Brooks, 27, revealed that he has an "anxiety condition" on Wednesday, speaking with reporters.
#Eagles OL Brandon Brooks said that he has an anxiety issue. It's the reason why he's gotten sick on game days and not played.

Brandon Brooks said it's not nervousness or fear of football. "I have an obsession with the game. It's an unhealthy obsession right now."

"What happens is, I wake up four, five in the morning," Brooks told reporters on Wednesday. "I just -- not to be graphic but -- uncontrollable vomit. There's nothing doctors can give me once it happens and it stops. It goes for a full 24 hours. And that's what happens."
Anxiety is very real, and can manifest itself in a lot of ways, but it is bizarre that it's just popped up now. And I see a psychiatrist.

Brooks, who signed a five-year deal worth $40 million with the Eagles last offseason, is having an excellent season when he's on the field. After Week 13, he was ranked among Pro Football Focus' top 25 offensive lineman.
Brooks hopes to play Sunday in Baltimore against the Ravens.
