Boy Run Over By Parade Float Remains Hospitalized

POINT PLEASANT, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a 6-year-old boy injured when a float ran over him during a Halloween parade in a Jersey shore town remains hospitalized.

Point Pleasant police say the boy was in stable condition Monday but remains in the intensive care unit.

The child was struck around 1:45 p.m. Sunday while walking along the parade route with his mother. He was hit by a wheel from a trailer being used as a float.

Officials say the two were associated with the float. Their names have not been released.

Authorities say the accident remains under investigation.
