Boy, 13, Charged With Arson In Fire At Bensalem Apartment Complex

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- A teenager has charged with intentionally setting a fire at an apartment complex in Bucks County last week.

The arson was set at about 9:30 p.m. on June 12th at the Bensalem Court Apartments on Cedar Avenue in Bensalem.

According to investigators, a 13-year-old boy intentionally ignited a flammable liquid with combustible material in the boiler room located in the common basement area.

The 13 year-old was identified the following day by investigators and charged with Arson and other related offenses. He was transported to the Edison Juvenile Detention Center as a result of the charges.

As a result of the fire, 29 residents from K building had to be displaced and were provided with shelter by the American Red Cross.

No residents were injured, but six apartments remain uninhabitable.
