PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Picking up right where the boy wizard left off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a spinoff of the Harry Potter franchise starring Eddie Redmayne from author J.K. Holdovers Doctor Strange with $18 million, Trolls with $17 million, and Arrival with $12 million took the next three spots.

The debuting teen comedy, The Edge of Seventeen, starring Hailee Steinfeld and Woody Harrelson, was seventh with $5 million.
