Boil Water Advisory Issued For Parts Of Bucks County

By Suzanne Monaghan

SELLERSVILLE, Pa. (CBS) - There is a boil water advisory and water conservation notice in effect for residents of Sellersville Borough and West Rockhill Township in Bucks County following a water main break Sunday morning.

Those under the advisory should boil water for one minute or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation.

Tony Bellitto, Executive Director of the North Penn Water Authority, says there is no evidence the water has been contaminated:

"Any time there is a loss of positive pressure in the system, like we experienced, that in an abundance of caution, there may be a circumstance where water quality could be compromised."

The boil water advisory will be in place for at least two days.

The break has resulted in very low water levels and customers are experiencing a decrease in water pressure.  Residents should only use water for essential purposes.

Crews finished repairs to the water main break Sunday night.
