Authorities say the body of Michael Shimanek was found down an embankment off the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday afternoon.

Police say based on preliminary investigation, it was determined Shimanek was struck by a vehicle at milepost 34.3 sometime between 3 a.m. and dawn.
