Body Found In New Jersey Inlet Is Missing Pennsylvania Teen

NORTH WILDWOOD, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a body found in a southern New Jersey inlet is that of a teenage boy from Pennsylvania who vanished while swimming last week.

Police have identified him only as a 16-year-old Lansdale resident.

North Wildwood police say the body was recovered early Saturday night after a passer-by saw it floating in the Hereford inlet.

The teen had been reported missing after he was seen struggling in the swift current June 30. Two North Wildwood police officers suffered minor cuts and bruises when they dived off a rock seawall to try to save him.
