Police Identify Man Whose Body Washed Ashore In Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS)-- Police in Atlantic City have identified a man whose body washed ashore in Atlantic City on Thursday night.

The discovery was made around 8 p.m. on the beach near the former Revel casino located in the 500 block of the boardwalk.

Investigators say 31-year-old Jeffrey Wilkens' body was found floating in the water by beachgoers.

Wilkens had been missing since entering the ocean on Tuesday around 8:15 p.m.

The United States Coast Guard, New Jersey State Police, and Beach Patrol had been searching the ocean for Wilkens.
