Blog: Shred/Recycling Event Saturday 11/1 For Burlington Co. Residents

By Jim Donovan: Burlington County residents will have one last opportunity this year to shred confidential documents and safely dispose of computers, TVs, and more on Saturday, November 1st from 9 am – 1 pm. The event will be held at the County's Resource Recovery Complex (22000 Columbus Road, Mansfield).

So far 3,300 county residents have participated in the previous four shred/recycle events this year, bringing in more than 95,180 pounds of documents for shredding and recycling 118,728 pounds of E-waste.

Residents are urged to bring only "confidential" documents for shredding, such as bank and credit card statements, tax returns, or papers with account numbers or social security numbers. Recyclables will be shredded on-site and should not be brought already-shredded. Up to four bags or boxes per household will be accepted.

Non-confidential documents such as junk mail, magazines, and catalogs should be recycled at the curb or municipal drop-off.

Residents can help preserve landfill space by bringing old electronics including:

• Computers
• Laptops
• Keyboards
• Printers
• Scanners
• Monitors
• TV's
• Mice/Cables
• Copiers
• Fax Machines
• VCR/DVD/MP3 Players
