Bill Cosby Talks About Lewis Katz

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Among the many people mourning the death of Lewis Katz is his longtime friend, comedian Bill Cosby. Cosby shared some of his recent memories of Katz with CBS 3 Eyewitness News on Sunday.

Cosby and Katz first met as students at Temple University back in the early 1960s.

Over the years, the two stayed close friends, often trading jokes and, as Cosby put it, competing for laughs.

"We always competed in a friendly way," Cosby said. "He wanted to be funny, and it was competitive. The two of us would go at it personally, joking and saying things about each other."

Cosby and Katz were both at Temple's Commencement Ceremony last month, where Cosby said Katz made him proud by getting a big laugh out of the crowd.

"He always said the same thing to me," Cosby said. "I love you man."
