PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On Tuesday night, Hillary Clinton made history, securing the nomination for the Democratic party for president.

Clinton opened his speech by talking about how he met his wife, calling her "magnetic." He spoke about how it took him days to work up the nerve to talk to her. That nerve was never worked up, as Bill said it was Hillary who first came up to him.

"We've been walking and talking and laughing together ever since," Clinton said. "We've built up a lifetime of memories."

"You should elect her because she'll never quit when the going gets touh. She'll never quit on you."

Many of those memories were made as Bill Clinton made his push for the White House and now more are being made as Hillary Clinton strives to do the same.

Bill Clinton went on to talk about Hillary Clinton's career in law and her decision to marry him and support his political career. He spoke about the birth of their daughter Chelsea Clinton.

And in his keynote, Bill Clinton never mentioned Donald Trump.

"There are clear, achievable, affordable responses to our challenges. But we won't get to them if America makes the wrong choice in this election."
