Big Turnout At Grocery Store's Grand Opening In Camden, NJ

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – For Veronica Walker, the grand opening of Price Rite in Camden is about more than fresh food, it's a fresh start.
"I'm loving it, I feel like it's my store!"
She's one of dozens of Camden residents now employed by the warehouse-style food market, which marks the city's first new grocery store in forty years.
"Very clean, wide aisles, prices so you can see 'em," explained customer Lavelle Griffiths.
And afford 'em. Price Rite aims to offer the same quality food as traditional super markets at about half the price. So, how do they do it? Minimal advertising, monthly circulars and a "bring your own bag" rule.
Griffiths says she scored tons of sweet bargains while shopping.
"Tasty Kakes were $.99 as opposed to $1.59 at other stores."
Owner Steve Ravitz hopes the prices and selection will keep folks coming back.
"It's great to see people smiling ear to ear, so happy that there's a food store with fresh options here in Camden."
