Bicyclist Killed After Colliding With SEPTA Bus In Frankford

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are investigating a fatal accident involving a SEPTA bus and a bicyclist in Frankford.

It happened about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday along Orthodox Street near Aramingo Avenue.

SEPTA officials say a preliminary report from investigators at the scene is the 44-year-old bicyclist collided with the side of the moving Route J bus.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

SEPTA says there were no passengers on board the bus at the time. The driver was not hurt.

SEPTA was pulling video from cameras on the bus to turn over to police to assist in the accident investigation.
