Bernie Sanders' Brother Tearfully Casts Vote In Heartfelt Speech

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Bernie Sanders got teary eyed during the roll call of states for the Democratic Presidential Nominee.

And it was at the hands of none other than his older brother, Larry Sanders.

Instantly changing the mood inside the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Sanders started off by voicing the names of their parents Eli and Dorothy Sanders.

Describing the two, he said they did not have easy lives and they died at a young age. But most importantly, he said that they would be extremely proud of their son, Bernard as he calls him, if they were here today.

"I want to bring before the convention the names of our parents Eli Sanders and Dorothy Sanders. They did not have easy lives and they died young. They would be immensely proud of their son and his accomplishments. They loved him," Sanders said before the crowd interrupted him with cheers.

As he continued his announcement he brought up one of the things his parents supported when they were alive to draw parallels to legislation that Bernie currently stands for.

"They loved the new deal of Franklin Roosevelt and would be especially proud that Bernard is renewing that vision," Larry Sanders stated.

He ended by saying with tears in his eyes, "It is with enormous pride that I cast my vote for Bernie Sanders."

On social media, Clinton and Sanders supporters reacted to the heart felt speech in agreeance.
