10-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Shot During Target Practice On Thanksgiving Day, Berks County DA Says

BERKS COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- A 10-year-old boy is dead after the Berks County District Attorney said he was shot during target practice on Thanksgiving Day. District Attorney John Adams said the incident happened at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the child's home in Hereford Township.

Pennsylvania State Police say a man was firing a rifle towards a homemade target on his property. Investigators say the shots went through the target and hit the boy.

Charges are pending the results of an autopsy scheduled for tomorrow morning.
