Bengals Donate Devon Still Jersey Proceeds To Fight Pediatric Cancer, Saints Buy 100

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- With all the turmoil and negative attention surrounding the NFL in regards to the Ray Rice situation, this feel-good story comes at a much needed time.

Former Penn State defensive lineman Devon Still opened his third NFL season on the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad this year. Still, 25, has struggled early in his NFL career and is battling a hamstring injury, but more significantly, the health of his child. Still's four-year-old daughter, Leah, is suffering from stage-4 pediatric cancer.

On Tuesday, the Bengals signed Still to their active 53-man roster. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis told Still, the Camden, NJ native, that he will be allowed to visit his daughter at the Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia.

In addition, the Bengals announced all proceeds from Still jerseys will go towards the Cincinnati Children's Hospital and pediatric cancer research. Still's jersey sold more in the first day than any other Bengals player's jersey ever has in a 24-hour period, according to Bengals director of sales and public affairs Jeff Berding.

On Wednesday, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton was moved by Still's story and remarkably convinced the Saints to purchase 100 Devon Still jerseys.
