Benefit Concert To Be Held For Abused Dog Left For Dead In Chester

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Justice Rescue -- dedicated to saving and restoring abused animals -- is holding a special benefit concert on Saturday.

"Rock for Paws" will start at 6:30pm at the 2300 Arena on South Swanson Street in South Philadelphia.

Admission is $10 and there will be a special "meet and greet" with "Remi" -- a two-year-old dumped in the weeds and left to die, the victim of a cruel dog-fighting ring.

Staff say they responded to almost 1,000 abuse calls in 2015, saving hundreds of animals.

The workers say Remi is "grateful, kind, affectionate, playful and loves treats" and is looking forward to meeting lots of new friends at the concert.
