Benefit Being Held Tonight For Officer Hartnett At Phila. FOP Lodge 5

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A benefit is being held this evening for wounded Philadelphia Police Officer Jesse Hartnett, who was shot several times in West Philadelphia earlier this month.

The benefit is being held at the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 on Caroline Road.

Donations at the benefit will help Officer Hartnett during his recovery from serious injuries to his left arm suffered when he was ambushed in his patrol car.

His accused attacker is awaiting a preliminary hearing.

Officer Hartnett was released from the hospital last Friday, two weeks after being shot.

He is recovering but faces a long road of medical procedures and surgeries.

The FOP is calling Thursday's fundraiser a "Benefit for our Hero."

Food and beverages will be served from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m
