Ben Simmons Reportedly Wants To Play For Lakers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Ben Simmons apparently wants to be a part of the Hollywood lifestyle.

According to Nick DePaula of The Vertical, Simmons' camp is "hoping" the Lakers land the top pick in Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery forcing Nike to match Adidas' shoe deal for the LSU product and projected No. 1 overall selection.

Adidas, the report says, offered Simmons a five-year shoe deal worth $10 million with a $2 million signing bonus and $1 million in incentives. Nike has held firm at $7.5 million for five-years.

The Lakers have a 19.9-percent chance at acquiring the first pick, while the 76ers have a 26.9-percent chance.

Simmons, 19, averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game as a freshman at LSU.
