Bells Toll In Celebration Of Easter At Main Line Church

BALA CYNWYD, Pa. (CBS) -- Bells were ringing in celebration of Easter at a Main Line church on Sunday.

Worshipers at The Church of St. John, Lower Merion sang out in praise -- and for one service a year -- Father Frank Wallner says they joyfully ring bells.

"When people ring the bells they're smiling at the same time," Wallner says. "There's something very joyful about the organ, the trumpet, the bells! It's phenomenal."

Father Wallner's sermon focused on the meaning of the holiday by declaring to the congregation the line, "I shall not die, but live," which 7-year-old Desmond McQuillan seems to have a good grasp on.

"When Jesus died it's not the happiest moment," McQuillan, "and it's not the saddest moment, because once you die, it's not the end, it's a new life."

And it's not just a day to enjoy chocolate and Easter eggs, though he was looking forward to a party at his grandparents' house.
