Being Married Is Good For Your Heart

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - I am not surprised by this because we have seen similar studies over the years but, according to a report from The American College of Cardiology meeting, when researchers compared married individuals to people who are single, divorced or widowed, what they found was that married people were less likely to have any type of heart disease.

The scientists looked at a database of 3.5 million people. This was particularly true for people 50 and younger.

According to research on the subject, companionship can have a very positive effect on the heart.
